Songsa Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Purple Layers Pte. Ltd. (“Purple Layers”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use Songsa on the web, Android or iOS. Songsa is a songwriting application that lets you chat about music, generate and edit compositions, record vocals, render audio on your device, and save finished music.

Information we collect

• Account information: username, email address, mobile number, declared date of birth, country, language, sign-in provider identifiers and email-verification status. Passwords are stored only as password hashes. Mobile number and date of birth are private account fields and are not displayed on an artist profile.
• Music and creative content: prompts, conversation history, musical metadata, compositions and their versions, lyrics, recordings you choose to upload, cover artwork, finished tracks and files you ask Songsa to create.
• Profile information: optional artist name, profile photo, biography, preferred genres, favourite artists, vocal range and social links.
• Product activity: screens and features used, selections and edits, render and generation outcomes, suggestion interactions, device/app state needed to recover work, and diagnostic or security events. We do not read messages, feeds, contacts or activity from other apps.
• Technical information: session identifiers, IP address, browser/app version, operating system, timestamps, request identifiers and service logs.
• Purchase information: app-store product, transaction and subscription status, purchase token or store reference, renewal/expiry time and the Songsa account linked to the purchase. Google Play processes payment details; Songsa does not receive or store your full payment-card number.

How we use information

We use this information to create and secure accounts; provide chat, generation, editing, recording, rendering, storage, download and sharing; maintain composition history; personalise musical guidance when enabled; verify eligibility; send verification and service messages; prevent abuse; troubleshoot failures; support users; comply with law; and improve Songsa.

Songsa may use your prompts, relevant conversation context, musical data and requested media with configured artificial-intelligence providers to fulfil a request. We do not use your private Songsa content to train a Purple Layers general-purpose model. A provider may process the submitted material under its business/API terms. Generated results can be imperfect; you can report an AI response directly in the app.

Legal bases where applicable

We process account and creative information as needed to provide the Songsa service you request and perform our agreement with you. We use legitimate interests to secure, maintain, troubleshoot and improve Songsa, prevent abuse and support users, balanced against your rights. We rely on consent where the law requires it for optional personalisation or device permissions, and you can withdraw that consent through Songsa or device settings. We also process information where necessary to meet legal obligations or protect legal rights.

Device processing and permissions

Songsa renders, mixes and masters composition audio on the device where supported. Local composition history and temporary audio buffers can remain on that device. Microphone access is requested only when you choose to record or dictate. Photo-library access is requested only when you choose an image. You can change permissions in device settings.

Who receives information

We disclose only what is needed to service providers acting for us, including hosting and storage providers, configured AI/model providers, Resend for verification email, authentication providers you choose, app stores and payment processors, and operational support or security vendors. We may disclose information where legally required, to protect users and services, or as part of a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information and do not use Songsa for cross-app advertising tracking. Store providers process payment credentials under their own terms; Songsa receives only the purchase and entitlement information needed to provide and support the plan.

Sharing and visibility

Saving to Your Music keeps a track private to your account. Downloading or sharing an MP3 sends the file to the destination you choose through your device. Songsa 1.0 does not include a public community feed, public profile browsing, direct messaging, follows or likes. Do not submit or share content you do not have the right to use.

Retention

Account and creative content is retained while your account is active and until you delete it or ask us to remove it, unless a longer period is required for a legal, payment, fraud-prevention or safety reason. Unfinished email-verification challenges expire quickly and are removed after expiry. Detailed personalisation events are retained for 30 days and recommendation decisions for 90 days; derived preference summaries remain until you clear personalisation or delete your account. Security, moderation and support records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. Deleted information is removed from active systems; residual encrypted backup copies expire through the backup cycle and are not returned to the active service except for disaster recovery.

Your choices and rights

You can edit profile information, turn personalised guidance off and clear its data, download finished music, request a data export, and permanently delete your account in Settings → Account & privacy. Account deletion removes active account data, conversations, compositions, saved tracks, uploaded media and profile data. You can also follow the public account-deletion instructions.

Depending on where you live, you may also ask to access, correct, export, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise a right. You may complain to your local data-protection authority.

Age

Songsa account registration is currently intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. Contact us if you believe a person under 18 supplied personal information.

Security and international processing

We use access controls, encrypted transport, password hashing, separated production/test systems and other administrative and technical safeguards. No system is perfectly secure. Songsa and its service providers may process information outside your country; where required, we use appropriate contractual or legal transfer safeguards.

Changes and contact

We will update the effective date and provide appropriate notice if this policy materially changes. Purple Layers Pte. Ltd. is responsible for Songsa. For privacy or support questions, email support@purplelayers.com.
